Tears Flow As Comedian Sanku IS Laid To Rest In Osogbo

It was a heartbreaking scene in Osogbo, Osun State, as family, friends, and fans gathered to bid farewell to popular Nigerian comedian Raji Samad Adetola, widely known as "Sanku".

The entertainer, who tragically lost his life in a fatal car accident on Monday, September 1, was buried in his hometown according to Islamic rites.

Viral videos from the funeral showed a heavy atmosphere of mourning as Sanku’s body, wrapped in a white cloth, was brought out of a car. People wept uncontrollably while chanting prayers, a moment that left many online viewers deeply emotional.

Reports confirmed that Sanku was travelling with four others along the Oyo–Ogbomosho Expressway when their vehicle was involved in a ghastly crash. Sadly, none of the passengers survived.

What makes his passing even more shocking is a video Sanku posted on TikTok just hours before his death. In the clip, he prayed not to die before enjoying his success—words many fans now describe as a haunting premonition. The video has since gone viral, leaving netizens in disbelief.

Adding to the grief, an old chat between Sanku and his close friend Makanjuola surfaced online after his death. Dated August 5, the conversation revealed that Sanku had been uneasy about his safety. He complained of recurring accident since he bought his car, despite trusting his driver. His words painted a picture of fear and frustration—one that sadly now feels prophetic.

Sanku’s passing has left a deep void in Nigeria’s comedy industry. Known for his hilarious skits and vibrant personality, he was regarded as one of the rising stars of online comedy. Social media remains flooded with tributes, prayers, and tears as fans struggle to come to terms with the shocking loss.
