2Baba Celebrates 50th Birthday and 25 Years in Music, Pens Heartfelt Message to Fans
Legendary Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has marked a major milestone as he celebrates his 50th birthday alongside 25 remarkable years in the music industry.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on Thursday, the global music icon expressed gratitude to God, his family, colleagues, and fans for their unwavering love and support throughout his journey.
Describing his career as “nothing short of amazing,” 2Baba acknowledged the sacrifices and contributions of his loved ones, including his mother, children, wife, siblings, and the mothers of his children, noting that they remain his backbone.
He also appreciated his fans—whom he fondly referred to as his “African queens and kings”—for being his source of inspiration through the highs and lows of his career.
“Today, I give thanks to Almighty God for the gift of life and the grace to celebrate my golden jubilee, 50 years on earth, and also a historic milestone of 25 years in the music industry. This journey has been nothing short of amazing, and I do not take it for granted,” he wrote.
Although 2Baba revealed that his official celebration has been postponed, he assured fans it has not been cancelled. Instead, he plans to merge both milestones—his golden jubilee and 25-year music journey—into one unforgettable celebration.
His wife, Natasha, also joined in honoring him with a touching tribute, calling the music legend the “love of her life.”
With a career spanning more than two decades, 2Baba has cemented his place as one of Africa’s greatest artists. His golden jubilee not only celebrates his personal journey but also pays tribute to the many who began with him but are no longer alive.
“Until then, keep the fire burning. The best is yet to come. One love always, 2Baba,” he concluded.
