The Nigerian entertainment scene never lacks drama, and this week, the spotlight is on billionaire heir Siraheem Okoya and fast-rising singer oSHAMO.
It all started on August 20, 2025, when oSHAMO announced the release of his new single Eleganza. What was meant to be a celebration quickly turned sour after Siraheem, son of billionaire businessman Razaq Okoya (founder of the famous Eleganza brand), accused the singer of copyright infringement.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) page, Siraheem blasted the song title, describing it as a rip-off of his family’s brand name. He went as far as tagging the track a “trash song” and vowed to drag oSHAMO to court.
But oSHAMO didn’t take the threats lying down. In his response, he clapped back at Siraheem, mocking his privileged background and labeling him a “Nepo baby.” He suggested that Siraheem only enjoys musical relevance because of his father’s wealth and even alleged that his inner circle is only loyal because of the financial perks they get.
The online spat has since sparked heated conversations, with fans split between both sides. Some believe the Eleganza name is too tied to the Okoya family’s legacy to be used freely, while others see it as just another word in the dictionary that any artist can creatively adopt.
